First images from Koala Man adult animated series featuring Hugh Jackman, Sarah Snook, Jemaine Clement and Michael Cusack

December 9, 2022 by Amie Cranswick

Hulu and Disney+ shared a poster and images for Koala Man, along with the announcement that the mew adult animated comedy series will premiere on January 9th.

The series centres on Kevin (voiced by Michael Cusack), a middle-aged father with a not so secret identity – a hero named Koala Man who is on a quest to clean up his Australian suburban town of Dapto.

Alongside creator/animator Michael Cusack, the voice cast includes Hugh Jackman, Sarah Snook, Jemaine Clement, and Demi Lardner, while Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland executive produces with Pokemon: Detective Pikachu writers Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit

“Koala Man” follows middle-aged dad Kevin and his titular not-so-secret identity, whose only superpower is a burning passion for following rules and snuffing out petty crime in the town of Dapto. Though it may seem like any other Australian suburb, forces of evil both cosmic and man-made lie in wait to pounce on unsuspecting Daptonians. On a quest to clean up his hometown, and often roping his frustrated family into his adventures, Koala Man stands at the ready. He’ll do whatever it takes to defeat villainous masterminds, supernatural horrors, or worse: jerks who don’t take their rubbish bins down on the proper days.

Koala Man will premiere on Hulu and Disney+ on Monday, January 9th.
