Franchise crossover game Funko Fusions gets first trailer

April 29, 2023 by Olly Dyche

The incredibly popular toy line Funko has unexpectedly released a jaw-dropping first trailer to its upcoming video game, Funko Fusion.

Developed by 10:10 Games and partnering with Universal, Funko Fusion is a third person action-adventure multiplayer game with characters and worlds from various movies and TV shows.

Drawing a lot of comparisons to the LEGO Games, 10:10 will allow players to play as Funko’d versions of their favorite characters from The Thing, Jurassic World, Shaun of the Dead, Back to the Future, Battlestar Galactica, The Mummy, Child’s Play, Masters of the Universe and The Umbrella Academy, just to name a few. Likewise, players will be able to run around each of the worlds listed above and much like LEGO Dimensions, will allow players to throw franchise characters into different worlds.

So expect to run away from a giant T-Rex in the Jurassic World universe with Marty McFly, Klaus from the Umbrella Academy, He-Man and Shaun from Shaun of the Dead. Whilst Funko have partnered with pretty much every brand under the sun, in its toy line, we can at the moment only expect Universal owned properties to make appearances, at least at this stage. With a former TT Games employee, (developers of the LEGO games) being the CEO of 10:10 Games we can expect the gameplay to play a lot like the aforementioned video game series. We can battle enemies from specific worlds, as well as spend a lot of gameplay time solving puzzles.

However, the only difference to the LEGO games is that Funko Fusion is multiplayer focused. It is still possible to play solo, but the game has been mostly marketed as a multiplayer game, allowing players to play online and locally with their friends. A feature many LEGO Games fans have been wanting to see for a long time. Not much else is really known about the gameplay, however each character will have unique abilities and skills. Check out the trailer here…

Funko Fusion is set to release some time in 2024.
