Fred Armisen, Tim Heidecker and John C. Reilly heading to Moonbase 8

April 30, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Following its first foray into television with Comrade Detective, A24 has now announced the new six-episode comedy series Moonbase 8 from Fred Armisen and Jonathan Krisel (Portlandia), John C. Reilly (Wreck-It Ralph) and Tim Heidecker (Tom Goes to the Mayor).

The series will see Armisen, Heidecker and Reilly starring as three subpar astronauts living in NASA’s Moon Base Simulator in the desert with high hopes of being the next chosen to travel through to the moon.

“Moonbase 8 is pure comic genius and we are thrilled to be a part of this show from the ground up,” says A24. “We can’t wait to introduce this fearless group of astronauts as they prepare to go where several people have gone before…but not as hilariously.”

A24 is independently financing the first season of the show, and production is now underway. A network will be sought once the episodes are completed.
