Precision Farming free DLC now available for Farming Simulator 19

December 8, 2020 by Andrew Newton

A free DLC for Farming Simulator 19 has been released that helps make the game more realistic by introducing Precision Farming.  This DLC is available for Xbox One X, PS4 and PC and is part of the ‘Integrating Precision Farming in Computer Game’ project funded by EIT Food, Europe’s leading Food Innovation Initiative.  Watch the new trailer below to see more of the new features included in this DLC.

The Precision Farming DLC features gameplay elements that will make farms more efficient and eco-friendly, these include the ability for players to optimise their crop yields by taking soil samples to identify four different soil types with individual requirements. By identifying soil types, pH values and nitrogen content players will be able to save resources like fertiliser, fuel, maintenance and more. All new features help make virtual farms more environmentally friendly as well as more cost effective.

This EU project is being led by agricultural machine manufacturer John Deere, and an illustrious group of partners including universities.  This is only the first step for the game during this project and more gameplay features in the future.

The Precision Farming DLC is available now for free from the ModHub on Xbox One, PS4, PC and Mac.
