UPDATE: Gal Gadot’s salary for Wonder Woman, Batman v Superman and Justice League revealed

June 20, 2017 by Robert Kojder

Reports are coming in from The Daily Dot that Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot has earned a salary of $300,000 per film for last year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, her recently released solo feature, and the upcoming Justice League.

For comparison, Henry Cavill made a whopping $14 million for playing Superman in Man of Steel alone. However, while there may seem like a hugely unfair pay gap here, it’s also worth noting that Chris Evans was paid the same exact sum for Captain America: The First Avenger. On the flipside, Robert Downey Jr. made upwards to $50 million from The Avengers alone, not only because he is the primary star of the MCU, but also because his contract has guarantees in place that includes backend compensation and bonuses for box office milestones.

The Daily Dot article goes on to speculate that Gadot will also likely have a clause in her contract relating to box office milestones, and she certainly deserves more than $$300,000 considering the massive critical and worldwide box office success of Wonder Woman and the praise for her portrayal of the Amazon Princess. Given that she has an initial three-film deal, she’ll also be in a very strong position to renegotiate for the inevitable Wonder Woman and Justice League sequels.

UPDATE: According to Deadline, Gadot was meant to receive $300,000 for the solo Wonder Woman movie, but Warner Bros. doubled this figure prior to production, and with her bonus cheques from the film’s box office takings, she has already earned multiple seven figures. The article also disputes that Cavill received $14 million upfront for Man of Steel, suggesting that he was actually paid less than $1 million.

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Wonder Woman sees Patty Jenkins (Monster) directing a cast that includes Gal Gadot (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Chris Pine (Star Trek), Connie Nielsen (Gladiator), Robin Wright (House of Cards), Danny Huston (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), David Thewlis (The Theory of Everything), Ewen Bremner (Snowpiercer), Said Taghmaoui (American Hustle), Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In), Lisa Loven Kongsli (Force Majeure), Lucy Davis (Shaun of the Dead) and Ann Wolf.
