Garfield gets another reason to hate Mondays this September with new video game

June 21, 2026 by Andrew Newton

Microids and developer OSome Studio will be bringing everyone’s favourite Monday-hating, lasagne-eating cat to PC and consoles on 24th September in Garfield – Escape from Monday. This new adventure will take Garfield on an exciting and unforgettable journey through nightmares of vegetables and other horrors. Watch the reveal trailer below….

Few characters love their sleep more than Garfield, but in this latest video game outing for the world’s laziest cat, his catnap has become more of a nightmare after eating Jon’s spinach lasagne. Thanks to this unholy pasta concoction, Garfield is having nightmares filled with vegetables, sugar-free sweets and other unimaginable horrifying encounters, and it is up to players to help him wake up from his disturbing sleep.

Garfield needs to journey through three worlds and more than 40 levels filled with enemies to fight, challenges to complete and lasagnes to eat up. Thankfully, Jon and his friends Odie, Arlene and Pookie will be around to help, and there will be special costumes to wear, including turkey, surfer and cowboy, each of which comes with its own abilities.

Players will be able to jump, climb walls and gather plenty of delicious collectables to help boost Garfield’s morale and help refurbish Jon’s house, but be careful as Garfield’s archenemies, Nermal and Squeak, are also somewhere inside his nightmare.

Get ready for the worst sleep Garfield has ever had this September in Garfield – Escape from Monday.
