Gavin O’Connor and Ben Affleck reuniting for The Accountant 2

June 26, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Warner Bros. is reuniting director Gavin O’Connor, star Ben Affleck and screenwriter Bill Dubuque for a sequel to last year’s crime thriller The Accountant.

According to the site, deals are being finalised now, and it is expected that Jon Bernthal will also sign on for the reunion, with his character likely to be featured prominently in the story.

Produced on a budget of $44 million, The Accountant grossed $155 million worldwide, and saw Affleck portraying an autistic accountant who makes his living by uncooking the books of criminal organisations. With the Treasury Department closing in, he takes on a new client which puts his life in danger, and the body count begins to rise as he is forced to put his extensive combat skills to use in order to survive.

Ben Affleck will next be seen reprising the role of Batman for November’s DC ensemble Justice League.
