Giancarlo Esposito leads revenge thriller Parish in first look at AMC series

November 14, 2023 by Ricky Church

Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul alum Giancarlo Esposito is returning to AMC in the crime revenge thriller series Parish, based off the UK series The Driver. The 6-episode series will see Esposito as a man returning to his criminal roots and gunning for revenge against a mob after his son is murdered. Watch the teaser and check out first-look photos below…

Parish follows “Gracian Parish, a family man and proud owner of a luxury car service in New Orleans. After his son is violently murdered and his business collapses, an encounter with an old friend from his days as a wheelman resurfaces old habits, sending Gracian on a high-stakes collision course with a violent criminal syndicate.”

Also starring in Parish is Zackary Momoh (Doctor Sleep) as New Orleans-based Zimbabwean gangster The Horse, Paula Malcomson (Ray Donovan) as Rose, Parish’s wife and mother to his two children, Skeet Ulrich (Scream) as Colin, an old acquaintance to Gray, Bonnie Mbuili (Noughts + Crosses) as Shamiso Tongai, The Horse’s smart and protective older sister, Ivan Mbakop (Hawkeye) as Zenzo, The Horse’s brother, Arica Himmel (Mixed-ish) as Gray and Rose’s daughter Makayla and Dax Rey (Wish Upon A Unicorn) as The Horse’s son Luke.

Recurring is Bradley Whitford (The Handmaid’s Tale) as Anton, the charming and intelligent face of industrial business in Louisiana who covertly heads a criminal organization. His dispute with The Horse’s human trafficking ring puts him at direct odds with Parish. Guest starring is Amanda Brugel (The Handmaid’s Tale) as Sister Anne, who has a mysterious past with Gray.

Parish is created by Danny Brocklehurst, who co-created The Driver with Jim Poyser, and will executive produce alongside Esposito and Poyser. It will be showrun and executive produced by Eduardo Javier Canto and Ryan Maldonado. AMC Studios is producing with A+E Studios and Thruline Entertainment.

Parish will premiere in 2024.
