Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter is Captain Britain in Marvel’s What If…? image

August 27, 2019 by Gary Collinson

During yesterday’s big Disney+ Showcase at the D23 Expo, the Mouse House shared a first-look image from the upcoming Marvel animated series What If…?, which features Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter as Captain Britain from a story that will reimagine the MCU had Peggy undergone the super soldier treatment rather than Steve Rogers; check it out here…

Among the What If…? footage shown to those in attendance was a shot of the Winter Soldier battling a zombified Captain America (confirming the earlier speculation about a Marvel Zombies story) and Steve Rogers suited up in some Iron Man-style armor, while it was also confirmed that the series will consist of 23 episodes – the same number of MCU movies released to date. Whether or not that means each movie will have its own specific episode is yet to be confirmed.

In other Marvel news coming out of D23, Marvel Studios has announced three new live-action Disney+ series in Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight and She-Hulk, the first trailer for the final season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was revealed, and the new Disney Junior animated series Spidey and His Amazing Friends was announced.
