HBO and Warner Bros. have announced that their upcoming Harry Potter TV series has found its writer and director, with Francesca Gardiner (Succession, His Dark Materials, Killing Eve) set to serve as showrunner and Mark Mylod (Succession, Game of Thrones, The Last of Us) directing multiple episodes.

As per the official press release, the series is described as “a faithful adaptation of the beloved Harry Potter book series by author and executive producer J.K. Rowling”, with an all-new cast set to take on the roles of the franchise’s beloved characters.

Each season is expected to tackle one book, promising to “bring Harry Potter and these incredible adventures to new audiences around the world.”
