Horror adventure The Long Reach arrives on Xbox One

July 18, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Xbox One gamers can travel to the fictional town of Baervox in the new horror adventure The Long Reach from indie developers Merge Games and Painted Black Games.  Blending horror with a touch of sci-fi, this pixel art adventure title will provide a more sceptical view of the human psyche that won’t quickly be forgotten.

There’s no post apocalyptic wasteland or fantasy world ruled by an evil overlord in this horror adventure, instead The Long Reach is set in the normal quiet town of Baervox in New Hampshire.  Despite it appearing to be quite a normal location there is something far from normal going on and that’s where the player comes in.  Taking the role of Calvin, players will explore the town to discover what is going on however, not everything is as it seems, not everything should be solved and it’s always acceptable to run.

The Long Reach features:

  • Stunning pixel art to create gruesome and unsettling images.
  • Puzzles that require players to think outside the box.
  • A large variety of characters to interact with.
  • A classic adventure game inventory filled with keys and “weird stuff”.
  • An original and haunting soundtrack.

The Long Reach is available now on the Xbox Store priced £12.99, $14.99, €14.99.
