Hugh Jackman “open to the idea” of playing Wolverine in Deadpool

March 2, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Fox has three X-Men movies set for release next year in Deadpool, X-Men: Apocalypse and Gambit, and so far – surprisingly – Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is yet to be confirmed as featuring in any.

It’s expected that he’ll return for Apocalypse, and given Fox’s past form with the franchise, there’s surely a good chance he’ll pop up somewhere in the others too. So, MTV decided to ask him if he’s any interest in reuniting with X-Men Origins: Wolverine co-star Ryan Reynolds for a cameo in the Merc with the Mouth’s first solo movie:

“Ryan I’m really good friends with, I’m really happy for him because he is a brilliant actor and he will nail that. Am I dodging your question well?”, said Jackman with a smile, before adding that “[Wolverine and Deadpool] are definitely enemies in the comics, and they always spark off well together, so yeah I’d be open to that idea.”
