Hugh Jackman talks more about X-Men: Days of Future Past and Wolverine’s relationship with Magneto

September 17, 2013 by admin

It seems that Hugh Jackman can’t leave the house without offering up a few words about next year’s mutant superhero epic X-Men: Days of Future Past, and he’s been at it again during an interview with The Daily Beast, where he briefly discussed his seventh outing as Wolverine during a Toronto International Film Festival interview about his latest film Prisoners [read our review here]…

“I think some people are saying, ‘Ah, this just sounds like an excuse to get all these actors together and make an Avengers-style movie,’ but the truth is that it’s a great script and Bryan [Singer] is very ambitious to make the best movie of them all,” states Jackman. “He’s got the biggest cast, the biggest budget, and he started it all, so it’s his legacy. He’s a fan of time-travel movies, and the detail that’s gone into it is incredible. I’m quietly confident that it will be the biggest and the best of them all. When I sat there on that panel at Comic Con, and looked down at all the actors, you think, ‘This might be one of the best ensembles ever assembled’… Apart from Movie 43 [Laughs].”

With Wolverine confirmed as the character set to go back in time to link up with the X-Men: First Class roster, Jackman then discussed Logan’s relationship with the younger Magneto, played by Michael Fassbender: “It’s fair to say we don’t get on that well. I get sent back to the past and he has no idea who I am, but you can imagine Wolverine has a bit of fun with that.”

X-Men: Days of Future Past is set for release on May 23rd 2014 with a cast that also includes X-veterans Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), James McAvoy (Young Professor X), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Lucas Till (Havok), Halle Berry (Storm), Anna Paquin (Rogue), Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde), Shawn Ashmore (Iceman) and Daniel Cudmore (Colossus) alongside X-Men newcomers Evan Peters (American Horror Story) as Quicksilver, Booboo Stewart (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) as Warpath, Omar Sy (The Intouchables) as Bishop, Fan Binbing (Iron Man 3) as Blink, Adam Canto (The Following) as Sunspot and Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) as Bolivar Trask.
