Hulu cancels How I Met Your Father after 2 seasons

September 3, 2023 by EJ Moreno

While we had years and years to figure out How I Met Your Mother, Hulu is looking to end its spin-off after only two seasons.

The streamer has canceled How I Met Your Father, the Hilary Duff-led spin-off, following several additional cancellations by Hulu’s parent company Disney. The show debuted in January 2022 and aired 30 episodes overall.

The real kicker is the series was canned before we ever figured out the great mystery of its title. How I Met Your Father concluded its now final season without revealing who Duff’s Sophie ended up having a child with.

The show synopsis reads: “In the near future, Sophie (Duff) is telling her son the story of how she met his father: a story that catapults us back to the present where Sophie and her close-knit group of friends are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.”

Along with How I Met Your Father, Hulu also canceled the award-winning series The Great after three seasons, and Disney+ already canned two upcoming series and ended Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. after two seasons.
