Jake Gyllenhaal returning for Road House sequel

May 15, 2024 by EJ Moreno

With its domination on Prime Video, you can expect another round in the ring with the boys of Road House.

During the Upfronts event in New York, Amazon MGM Studios announced they’ll be developing a sequel to the 2024 smash hit, with star Jake Gyllenhaal reprising his role as Dalton.

At the time of reporting, it’s unknown if Road House director Doug Liman (who blasted the studio for not giving it a theatrical release) will return to helm the sequel. Plot details are being kept under wraps for the sequel.

The film is Amazon’s biggest-ever movie launch, with 50 million viewers. Since then, it’s stayed a stable hit for the streamer.

Road House stars Jake Gyllenhaal as former UFC athlete Elwood Dalton, who takes a job as a cooler at a rough roadside bar in the Florida Keys, and in the process gets more than he bargained for.
