James Bond producers want to bring back No Time to Die director in the future

October 16, 2020 by Samuel Brace

The producers of the James Bond franchise have revealed that they would love to bring back No Time to Die director Cary Joji Fukunaga in the future.

While No Time to Die is the last time we will see Daniel Craig as Bond, the franchise itself isn’t going anywhere. Someone else will be taking on the iconic role and more films will be produced.

Finding a director might not be too difficult, however, as producers of the Bond franchise Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli have told The Wall Street Journal they would love to work with No Time to Die‘s Cary Fukunaga again.

Wilson said: “He’s certainly someone we’ll work with again.” And Barbara Broccoli agreed, praising the director: “He far exceeded anyone’s expectations. He’s made probably one of the best Bond films ever…. He’s delivered a film on an epic scale, but it also has a tremendous, tremendous intimacy…. It’s a classic Bond movie but also a Cary Fukunaga film.”

Let’s hope that they are right and Fukunaga has indeed made one of the best Bond films ever. We will be in for quite some treat if he has when No Time to Die finally premieres.

Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

No Time To Die stars Daniel Craig (James Bond), Ralph Fiennes (M), Naomie Harris (Moneypenny), Rory Kinnear (Tanner), Léa Seydoux (Madeleine Swann), Ben Whishaw (Q), Jeffrey Wright (Felix Leiter) and Christoph Waltz (Blofeld), while new additions include Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody), Ana de Armas (Knives Out), Lashana Lynch (Captain Marvel), Billy Magnussen (Velvet Buzzsaw), Dali Benssalah (A Faithful Man) and David Dencik (Top of the Lake).
