Jamie Dornan joins Robin Hood: Origins as Will Scarlet

September 21, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Fifty Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan is in final talks to board Lionsgate’s Robin Hood: Origins, where he’ll portray the character of Will Scarlet.

The film is being directed by Otto Bathurst (Peaky Blinders) and will star Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service) as Robin Hood, Jamie Foxx (Django Unchained) as Little John and Eve Hewson (Bridge of Spies) as Maid Marian.

THR reports that in this version of the tale, Will Scarlett is Marian’s husband, and “will be none too happy when he learns that she loves the outlaw.”

Dornan was last seen in Anthropoid alongside Cillian Murphy, and he has the war drama The Siege of Jadotville set to arrive in October [watch the trailer here], followed by the Fifty Shades of Grey sequel Fifty Shades Darker in February [watch the trailer here].
