Jason Statham wanted for Eastern Promises follow-up Small Dark Look

December 6, 2020 by Gary Collinson

THR is reporting that Jason Statham is circling Small Dark Look, a follow-up of sorts to David Cronenberg’s Eastern Promises which takes place in the same world as the Viggo Mortensen-headlined 2007 crime thriller.

Eastern Promises screenwriter Steven Knight has once again penned the script, while Oscar-nominated Danish filmmaker Martin Zendvliet (Land of Mine) is on board to direct. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but it is not expected to pick up on any of the storylines from the original film.

As per the trade’s report, Statham’s involvement is yet to become official, and there may be scheduling issues given his upcoming slate for 2021 which includes a new Guy Ritchie movie, The Meg 2, and – potentially – the sequel to Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.
