Jon Favreau open to directing another Marvel movie, if there’s “a great story”

May 2, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Eight years ago to the day, Marvel’s Iron Man opened in U.S. theaters, with director Jon Favreau kickstarting what would go on to become the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Favreau returned for the 2010 sequel Iron Man 2 but then took a bit of a back seat, serving as executive producer on The Avengers, Iron Man 3 and Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Having recently confirmed that he will executive produce both part of Avengers: Infinity War, IGN asked Favreau whether he would be interested in helming another Marvel movie, and if so, what it would take to get him back in the director’s chair.

“A great story,” said Favreau. “I know the people over there. I like them. I still executive produce the Avengers series and I like what they’re doing a lot now, I do. By the same token I feel like I’ve made my mark; whatever we did in those early days has continued and is in good hands with new filmmakers with fresh voices.”

Would you like to see another Jon Favreau-directed Marvel movie, and if so, which property? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
