Josh Brolin says “it’s Thanos against everyone” in Avengers: Infinity War

December 8, 2014 by Thomas Roach

Following Josh Brolin’s casting as Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy, fans are eager to see when the character will next appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and with the announcement of Avengers: Infinity War we know that we will see the Mad Titan take on Earth’s Mightiest Heroes across two movies.

Speaking to Coming Soon about his latest movie Inherent Vice, Brolin has spoken briefly about the hotly-anticipated showdown, stating that: “I love the idea of Thanos,” says Brolin. “Ultimately, it’s Thanos against everyone. Why wouldn’t you do that?”

Brolin then went on about how he got the role: “Thanos came along because of my good friend Louis D’Esposito. He and I used to train together. We did Hollow Man together. He called me up and started talking about this thing. It was nice because I could intimately talk to him about it. What I liked. What I didn’t like about the whole idea of it… It was really exciting because of the possibilities that it could be come. Not as an idea or as a blockbuster, but just as something different. It’s a character mentality.”

Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1 will open on May 4th 2018 followed by Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2 on May 3rd 2019. Meanwhile Thanos will also likely appear in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, which is set for release on May 5th, 2017.
