Josh Brolin shares his reaction to seeing Avengers: Infinity War deaths for the first time

July 1, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Marvel Studios warned us to be careful what we wished for when it came to character deaths in Avengers: Infinity War, and sure enough the movie delivered in spades after Thanos assembled the Infinity Gauntlet and snapped his fingers, turning half of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to dust in the process.

Speaking to USA Today, the Mad Titan himself Josh Brolin has revealed his initial reaction to seeing the aftermath of ‘The Snap’ for the very first time during the film’s premiere:

“I was literally sitting in the theater going, ‘Oh my God. Oh my God. Spider-Man just disintegrated. That’s not OK. I looked at Hemsworth and he looked at me. He smiled and was like, ‘Your career is over.’ On Instagram people are posting things like, ‘I hate you.’ That’s fantastic. I’m, like, the one guy who smiles when he sees that. It’s like, ‘It worked.’”

Brolin is set to return as Thanos in next year’s Avengers 4 – rumoured to be titled Avengers: End Game – and has recently expressed his interest in reprising the role after that. Either way, we can presumably expect to see more death and destruction at his hand before the Avengers eventually win the day.
