Josh Hartnett renaissance continues with new M. Night Shyamalan film

October 29, 2023 by EJ Moreno

90s and 00s heartthrob Josh Hartnett is slowly working his way back into the Hollywood mainstream with solid efforts in some big hits, and now he joins an iconic filmmaker for a thrilling good time.

Film Updates broke the news that Hartnett will join M. Night Shyamalan’s upcoming project, which was once-titled Trap, after he secured an interim agreement from SAG-AFTRA, allowing the actor to film the movie during the actors’ strike.

Little is known of the project, but Shyamalan previously described the film as a “psychological thriller set at a concert.” We do know Saleka Shyamalan has joined the project and will play a pop star in the film whose concert is at the heart of the story. Hartnett is set to play a father who takes his child to the show and becomes caught up in the surrounding events.

During this recent comeback, Josh Hartnett has put in work at the prestige film level and is still finding time for exciting other projects. He’s starred in Wrath of Man, Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, a critically acclaimed episode of Black Mirror, and even had a prominent role in Christoper Nolan’s Oppenheimer.

The icing on the cake? There are even talks of him starring as Harvey Dent in The Batman: Part II. Hartnett is on a roll right now, and a surprise thriller hit with Shyamalan could help cement more of these significant roles again.
