American Horror Story star Kathy Bates has joined the cast of the upcoming comedy sequel Bad Santa 2, where she is set to play Sunny Soke, “the foulmouthed, tough-as-nails mom” to Billy Bob Thornton’s Willie Soke.
Bad Santa 2 is being directed by Mark Waters (Mean Girls) from a script by Entourage creator Doug Ellin along with Johnny Rosenthal and Shauna Cross. Tony Cox (Marcus) and Brett Kelly (Thurman Merman) are also set to reprise their roles from the original movie.
Filming on Bad Santa 2 is set to get underway in January 2016.
