Knuckles series adds Christopher Lloyd, Cary Elwes, Stochard Channing and more

June 15, 2023 by Ricky Church

The Sonic The Hedgehog spin-off TV series Knuckles has added several actors to its cast. Joining Idris Elba in the series will be Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), Cary Elwes (Operation Fortune), Stockard Channing (Grease), Paul Scheer (The League) and Rob Huebel (Bob’s Burgers).

Character details are being kept under wraps, but they join Elba’s Knuckles who was introduced in Sonic The Hedgehog 2.  Returning from the Sonic films will be Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski, the adoptive mother to Sonic, and Adam Pally as Wade Whipple, one of Tom Wachowski’s fellow police officers at the Green Hills Sheriff’s Department. Knuckles will follow the red echidna as he “agrees to train Wade as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior.”

Also starring in the series is Edi Patterson (The Righteous Gemstones), Julian Barratt (The Great), Rory McCann (Game of Thrones), Scott Mescudi (more commonly known as the rapper Kid Cudi) and Ellie Taylor (Ted Lasso).

Jeff Fowler, the director behind both Sonic the Hedgehog films, is set to direct the pilot episode and executive produce the series. John Whittington will write the series.
