Kyle Chandler poised to play Hal Jordan in HBO’s Lanterns

September 23, 2024 by Matt Rodgers

Having seemingly searched the galaxy and beyond for their Hal Jordan, HBO and DC Studios have decided to give the power ring to Friday Night Nights alum Kyle Chandler for their forthcoming Lanterns series.

Everyone from Josh Brolin to Ewan McGregor have been linked with the role over the past few weeks, but now according to Deadline it will be the Emmy winning star of Bloodline and Catch-22 who will embody the legendary Lantern.

The series comes from Watchmen and LOST scribe Damon Lindelof, who will work alongside Ozark‘s Chris Mundy and DC comic author Tom King.

Consisting of eight episodes, Lanterns will follows new recruit John Stewart and iconic Lantern Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, Earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.
