Lee Daniels’ The Deliverance gets a trailer from Netflix

Netflix has debuted the first trailer, a poster and images for director Lee Daniels’ (Precious, The Butler) upcoming horror The Deliverance.

Inspired by true events, the film follows a struggling single mother (Andra Day) as she starts experiencing strange occurrences in her new home, which lead to a battle for both her own life and the souls of her children.

Featuring in the cast alongside Andra Day are Glenn Close, Mo’Nique, Anthony B. Jenkins, Miss Lawrence, Demi Singleton, Tasha Smith, Omar Epps, Caleb McLaughlin, and Aunjanue Ellis. Watch the trailer below…

Ebony Jackson, a struggling single mother fighting her personal demons, moves her family into a new home for a fresh start. But when strange occurrences inside the home raise the suspicions of Child Protective Services and threaten to tear the family apart, Ebony soon finds herself locked in a battle for her life and the souls of her children.

The Deliverance arrives on Netflix on August 30th.
