Leonardo DiCaprio and Jessica Biel in talks to reboot The Facts of Life

August 6, 2018 by Gary Collinson

It looks like the classic American sitcom The Facts of Life could be the latest TV show for a modern makeover, with Deadline reporting that Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way and Jessica Biel’s Iron Ocean Films are looking to develop a reboot of the NBS series.

A spinoff from Diff’rent Strokes, The Facts of Life starred . Charlotte Rae as Edna Garrett, a housemother at the all-female Eastland boarding school, and featured a cast that included Lisa Whelchel as Blair, Kim Fields as Tootie, Mindy Cohn as Natalie, and Nancy McKeon as Jo. It ran for 209 episodes across nine seasons between 1979 and 1988.

News of a Facts of Life reboot follows the hugely-successful revival of 80s sitcom Roseanne, which was subsequently cancelled following a racist tweet from Roseanne Barr, and is now being replaced by the spinoff The Conners. A revival of Murphy Brown is scheduled to premiere on CBS this September, while it was reported earlier in the week that a reboot of ALF is also in development.

Are you excited about the prospect of a Facts of Life reboot? Are there any other 80s sitcoms you’re hoping to see revived or rebooted? Let us know in the comments below…
