Liam Neeson’s Naked Gun reboot rounds out cast with Cody Rhodes, Busta Rhymes and more

May 25, 2024 by EJ Moreno

As The Naked Gun remake enters production, the cast is starting to become a Hollywood hitlist of stars.

Deadline has confirmed the latest round of casting, which includes comedians, wrestlers, and rappers. The outlet reports that current WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes, Liza Koshy, CCH Pounder, and Busta Rhymes will all join the parody remake.

The film stars Liam Neeson as Detective Frank Drebin, who was made famous by Leslie Nielsen. The studio has yet to confirm the roles of the new cast members.

They join the previous cast of Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, Kevin Durand, and Danny Huston. Hauser will play this film’s version of Captain Ed, while Anderson and Huston’s roles haven’t yet been revealed. Durand will play the film’s villain.

Produced by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, The Lonely Island’s Akiva Schaffer will direct from a script by his Chip’ n Dale: Rescue Rangers writers Dan Gregor and Doug Mand.
