Lindsay Lohan is still trying to make a Mean Girls sequel happen

December 9, 2017 by Tom Beasley

Lindsay Lohan is still keen on appearing in a Mean Girls sequel, more than a decade after the original film hit cinemas and six years after a direct-to-TV sequel nobody remembers – including Lohan, it seems.

The star, who played high school new girl Cady in the 2004 teen movie, has been the most passionate advocate for a Mean Girls follow-up in recent years.

Lohan has spoken of her desire to make a sequel with her original castmates and writer Tina Fey for a number of years and this week told E! News she’s still lobbying Paramount to make it happen.

She said: “Mean Girls 2 the movie – this is the importance. We need Rachel McAdams. We need the whole cast back. I’d love to do it again. We had so much fun making it. Mark Waters is such a great director, Tina Fey is an amazing writer, Paramount was great to work with. We all had a blast.”

Fey is currently bringing a musical inspired by Mean Girls to Broadway in 2018, but does not have plans to give the original gang, which included Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert as well as Lohan and McAdams, another outing.
