UPDATE: Marvel’s X-Men TV pilot gets five new cast members

March 2, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Earlier this week it was announced that True Blood’s Stephen Moyer has secured the lead in Marvel and Fox’s X-Men pilot, and now comes word of two more additions to the cast.

Deadline is reporting that Sean Teale (Incorporated) will play Marcos Diaz/Eclipse, a mutant created for the show who possesses the ability to absorb and manipulate photons. His character description reads “a natural rebel compelled by circumstances to cooperate with others, Marcos is a passionate and strong-willed fighter who sometimes lets his emotions overrule reason.”

Meanwhile, Variety has revealed that Natalie Alyn Lind (The Goldbergs) is set to play Lauren, the daughter of Moyer’s character Reed, who is described as “smart, pretty, popular, organized and already ahead on her college applications, she is the model of a perfect kid.”

UPDATE: THR is also reporting that Amy Acker (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) has been cast as the female lead as Kate Stewart, “a woman who is struggling with her separation from her husband, Reed (Moyer) and her increasingly challenging teenage children. When her family situation takes a dark turn, she finds that she’s stronger than she thinks.”

Meanwhile, Emma Dumont (Pretty Little Liars) has been cast as Lorna Dane/Polaris – ” a strong-willed, brave and loyal mutant who has the ability to manipulate magnetism” – and Percy Hynes White (Between) will portray Andy, “a sensitive kid and bit of a loner, who keeps to himself to avoid the turmoil he faces at school and at home.”

The pilot, which is being directed by Bryan Singer from a script by Matt Nix (Burn Notice), will follow two ordinary parents who are forced to go on the run from a hostile government after discovering their children posses the X-Gene, and link up with an underground network of mutants.

Other additions to the cast include Blair Redford (Switched at Birth) as Sam, “the strong-headed Native American leader of the underground mutant network”, and Jamie Chung (Gotham) as Clarice Fong, a.k.a. Blink.
