Matt Reeves debunks rumours of The Batman exit

March 4, 2018 by Gary Collinson

A few days ago movie pundit John Campea claimed to have “100% true” information about Warner Bros.’ DC Extended Universe, which would make fans “lose their banana minds, and not in a good way.”

While he gave nothing further away, the internet quickly ran with it:

There’s always lots of rumours about The Batman + Warner Bros. can’t hold on to its DC directors = Matt Reeves is leaving the Batman solo movie?!

Well, it turns out that isn’t the case after all, as Reeves has since taken to Twitter to confirm that there’s no truth in the rumour/speculation:

Uh… It ain’t so! 😀🦇👍 https://t.co/SyWuBzUIWr

Reeves is of course the second director on The Batman after Ben Affleck, whose continued involvement as the Caped Crusader remains up in the air after the disappointing reception to Justice League. Affleck has said himself that he is yet to commit to the project, while reports have linked  the likes of Jake Gyllenhaal and Jon Hamm as his potential replacement.

Hopefully we don’t have too much longer to wait before we get some kind of official news on The Batman, as all of this rumour and speculation is getting very tiresome.
