Meryl Streep, Cameron Diaz and Milla Jovovich in negotiations for The ExpendaBelles?

October 25, 2013 by admin

The Expendables producer Avi Lerner has been speaking to the press in Bulgaria about The ExpendaBelles, during which he’s claimed that Millennium Films is currently in negotiations with Meryl Streep (The River Wild), Cameron Diaz (Knight and Day) and Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil) about joining the cast of the all-female action spin-off. The script for the laughably-named movie has been written by Legally Blonde scribes Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith, and Lerner is apparently looking to add a female director before presumably reaching out to any actress with even a smidgen of action experience.

Before The ExpendaBelles comes The Expendables 3, which is currently shooting in Bulgaria under director Patrick Hughes (Red Hill), with returning stars Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture and Terry Crews joined by Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Mel Gibson, Kelsey Grammer, Harrison Ford, Kellan Lutz, Glen Powell, MMA star Ronda Rousey and boxer Victor Ortiz. The threequel is set to hit on August 15th 2014.

Who would you like to see starring in The ExpendaBelles? Surely there’s a place for Cynthia Rothrock. And Michelle Rodriguez’s agent must be rubbing their hands together with glee…
