Michael Keaton has just shot some new scenes as The Vulture

November 21, 2021 by Amie Cranswick

It’s been quite the comic book movie renaissance for Michael Keaton these past few years. After starring as the villainous Adrian Toomes, a.k.a. The Vulture, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster Spider-Man: Homecoming, Keaton reprised the role – albeit in a different superhero cinematic universe – for Sony’s upcoming Morbius film, before donning the cape and cowl once more to return as Batman in next year’s The Flash.

Well, it seems we can expect another Vulture appearance soon, as during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week, Keaton let slip that he was actually going to be shooting new scenes as the Spidey villain the following day, although he stopped short of revealing exactly which film he would be working on. Head to the 14.40 mark in the video to see his comments…

Naturally much of the speculation has leaned towards Keaton shooting for Spider-Man: No Way Home, which appears to be a villain short of a Sinister Six at present. However, it could just as easily be Morbius pickups, or perhaps even Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness which has just kicked off six weeks of “significant” reshoots and may well offer some kind of hint or explanation as to how the Vulture is hopping between superhero cinematic universes (as Keaton said recently, he’s a little confused about that himself)?

For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: No Way Home sees Jon Watts (Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home) directing Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Zendaya (MJ), Marisa Tomei (Aunt May), Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds), Tony Revolori (Flash Thompson), Jon Favreau (Happy Hogan), Angourie Rice (Betty Brandt), Jorge Lendeborg Jr. (Jason Ionello), Benedict Wong (Wong), J.K. Simmons (J. Jonah Jameson), Martin Star (Mr. Harrington), J.B. Smoove (Mr. Dell), Hannibal Buress (Coach Wilson), Jamie Foxx (Electro), Alfred Molina (Doctor Octopus), Rhys Ifans (Lizard), Thomas Haden Church (Sandman), and Willem Dafoe (Green Goblin).

Spider-Man: No Way Home is set for release on December 15th in the UK and December 17th in North America.
