Music Meister announced as villain for the Supergirl / The Flash crossover, Gorilla Grodd’s Flash return confirmed

Back in August, The CW announced that Supergirl and The Flash would be crossing paths once again this year for a two-part musical crossover which would allow former Glee stars Melissa Benoist and Grant Gustin to flex their singing voices once again.

Speaking at the Television Critics Assocation winter press tour, executive producer Greg Berlanti has provided an update on the crossover, as well as confirming the rumours that the about the villain.

“It is going to be the Music Meister,” said Berlanti. “We’re finishing writing the script this weekend.”

Berlanti was addressed the rumour linking Neil Patrick Harris to the role, given that he voiced the villain in the ‘Mayhem of the Music Meister’ episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold, stating that: “We haven’t gone about casting it yet. But it’s the right question, though.”

In other Flash news, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg has confirmed recent reports that Gorilla Grodd is returning to the show this season, revealing that the supervillain will feature in episodes thirteen and fourteen, and that: “One of the [episodes] will take place in Gorilla City and one of them will take place on Earth-1.”

In other news from The CW’s panel, it has been announced that the network has placed early renewals for Arrow, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl, and is also reviving Constantine as an animated series on CW Seed.
