Neill Blomkamp still planning to direct The Gone World

July 31, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Back in 2015 it was announced that Neill Blomkamp had signed on to direct an adaptation of Thomas Sweterlitsch’s upcoming sci-fi novel The Gone World for 20th Century Fox.

Since then, he’s set up an Alien project at Fox, only for the studio to pull the plug after Ridley Scott decided to return to the franchise for Alien: Covenant, as well as directing a series of shorts through his Oats Studios production company.

Well, the filmmaker has confirmed that he hasn’t given up on The Gone World, and still intends on making the movie…

Described as “a sci-fi time travel procedural”, The Gone World follows a special agent who is investigating a savage murder and missing person’s case with grave implications for the fate of mankind.
