Netflix announces new House of Cards showrunners

February 27, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Back in January it was revealed that Netflix had renewed House of Cards for a fifth season, albeit without original creator Beau Willimon, who has decided to step down as showrunner after season four.

Well, Netflix has now announced Willimon’s replacements in Melissa James Gibson and Frank Pugliese, two writers from the series who have been on board since season three.

“We and the rest of the House of Cards writers look forward to the next chapter of the reign of Underwood,” said the duo as part of the official announcement.

The fourth season of House of Cards is set to land on Netflix this coming Friday, March 4th. Watch the latest trailer here.
