Netflix cancels Girlboss after single season

June 26, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Girlboss has gone the way of The Get Down and Sense8, with Netflix announcing that it has cancelled the comedy series after a single season.

“While I’m proud of the work we did, I’m looking forward to controlling my narrative from here on out,” said writer and executive producer Kay Cannon (Pitch Perfect). “It was a good show, and I was privileged to work with incredible talent, but living my life as a caricature was hard even if only for two months.”

Based on Nasty Gal founder Sophia Amoruso’s autobiography, the series starred Britt Robertson as Sophia, a rebellious, broke anarchist who becomes an unlikely businesswoman after stumbling upon her passion of selling vintage clothes online.
