Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop live-action series fills out its cast

November 23, 2020 by Gary Collinson

As it gears up to resume production after going on hiatus following an injury to lead actor John Cho last year, Netflix has announced six new additions to the cast of its upcoming live-action anime adaptation Cowboy Bebop.

As reported by Deadline, the new additions include Geoff Stults (Little Fires Everywhere) as Chalmers, Tamara Tunie (Black Earth Rising) as Ana, Mason Alexander Park (Hedwig and the Angry Inch National Broadway Tour) as Gren, Rachel House (Thor: Ragnarok) as Mao, and Ann Truong (Hard Target 2) and Hoa Xuande (Top of the Lake) as Shin and Lin.

Cowboy Bebop revolves around a ragtag crew of bounty hunters on the run from their pasts as they hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminal and sees John Cho taking on the role of Spike Spiegel alongside Mustafa Shakir (Luke Cage) as Jet Black, Daniella Pineda (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) as Faye Valentine, Alex Hassell (The Boys) as Vicious and Elena Satine (The Gifted) as Julia.

The series originally began production last year, with Cho injuring his knee during a freak on-set accident. Rather than recasting, Netflix decided to put the project on hold and wait for the actor to recover from surgery.
