New LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart sets head to the starting grid

The LEGO Group is expanding its LEGO Super Mario line-up with two new Mario Kart-themed sets in Shy Guy & P-Wing (72045) and Piranha Plant Power-Up Pursuit (72044). The sets are available to pre-order now, and go on sale on August 1st; check them out here…

Drive, drift, glide, launch shells and more with this LEGO® Super Mario™: Mario Kart™ toy building set for kids (72045). A fun birthday gift idea for boys, girls and any gamers aged 7 years old and over, the set features a Shy Guy figure and a brick-built recreation of a P-Wing with a shell-launching function, Normal Wheels and a detachable Plane Glider. There is also a Banana element to throw at rival karts!

Slide the driver’s seat forwards to fit LEGO® Mario™, LEGO® Luigi™ or LEGO® Peach™ toy figure (from sets 71439, 71440, 71441 or 72043 – sold separately) in the kart for interactive play, triggering Mario Kart sound and visual effects for race-starting, drifting, gliding and more.

Find building instructions for this Nintendo® LEGO set in the box or on the LEGO Super Mario app and look out for other LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart building toys (sold separately) for other characters and vehicles to race and battle against. This set contains 249 pieces.
