Official: Sony’s Spider-Man Animated Movie to star Miles Morales

Rumours of Miles Morales making it to the big screen have been strring for a while now and Sony has today made it official that the fan favourite character is heading to theatres for the studio’s untitled Animated Spider-Man movie.

During a presentation by Sony Pictures Animation which covered their upcoming projects, some key details for the animated movie were made public. Here’s the relevant info from the official press release:

From Phil Lord & Christopher Miller, the geniuses behind THE LEGO MOVIE, comes an animated SPIDER-MAN feature starring Miles Morales.
 
The feature is directed by Bob Persichetti (head of story on PUSS IN BOOTS and THE LITTLE PRINCE) and Peter Ramsey (RISE OF THE GUARDIANS).  The film is written by Phil Lord.  Avi Arad (IRON MAN, SPIDER-MAN), Amy Pascal (SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING), Phil Lord & Christopher Miller (Untitled HAN SOLO Movie) are executive producing; Christina Steinberg (TROLLHUNTERS) is producing.

This is news that fans have been waiting for and the official confirmation is bound to please.

The Untitled Animated Spider-Man movie is set for release on December 21st 2018.
