After recently earning a SAG-AFTRA award for Best Ensemble, Only Murders in the Building has begun production on its fifth season with Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez reprising their roles.
The show announced the news on Instagram, saying only that production had begun with no new casting announcements yet for the upcoming season. The finale teased Téa Leoni as a new client for Charles, Mabel and Oliver as she tried hiring them to investigate her husband’s disappearance which they declined to investigate. While Leoni’s involvement has not yet been confirmed, it’s likely we will see her again in the fifth season.
Apart from Leoni’s cameo, the season ended with a tease on their next case as the Arconia’s loyal and friendly doorman Lester was found murdered in the complex’s courtyard fountain. With season five now in production, we’ll have to see which new characters from the award-winning fourth season will return or what other new suspects will be joining the show.
