Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey are in survival mode in trailer for HBO’s The Last of Us

September 26, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

Waiting for HBO to release the trailer for their eagerly awaited adaptation of blockbuster videogame The Last of Us has been akin to patiently skulking in the dark in the hope that a deadly clicker doesn’t hear you kick a bottle whilst playing Neil Druckmann’s masterpiece.

If that mangled metaphor means nothing to you, then get excited for 2023’s best show, as Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey navigate an apocalyptic landscape filled with monsters, and if you’re already a fan, check out the trailer below and get even more hyped…

The Last of Us story takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.

Written by Chernobyl’s Craig Mazin and creator Neil Druckmann, The Last of Us stars Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) as Joel and Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) as Ellie alongside Gabriel Luna, Merle Dandridge, Jeffrey Pierce, Anna Torv, Nico Parker, Murray Bartlett, Nick Offerman, Lamar Johnson, Storm Reid, Keivonn Woodard, GRaham Greene and Elaine Miles.

The Last of Us will premiere in early 2023.
