Peter Dinklage wants fans to finally see The Toxic Avenger remake

August 27, 2024 by EJ Moreno

It’s been years since the remake of the 80s horror filth classic The Toxic Avenger was announced, and it has been around a year since it was first screened at Fantastic Fest. Still, despite its good reviews, it’s been held from release.

The actor behind the film, Peter Dinklage, is talking about the delay. While he can’t offer answers, he has his sentiments with fans.

“I’m not a producer on it. I don’t know. I do want it to get out there into the world because it was a really big hit at Fantastic Fest in Austin, and Macon Blair, the writer/director who is also in The Thicket; He’s incredible. He’s one of my favorite people and favorite artists. So hopefully, it will have its day in the toxic sun.”

Horror fans are eagerly awaiting the release of what could be a future cult classic, although it remains to be seen when – and if – we’ll get to see it.

“Set in a fantasy world following Winston, a stereotypical weakling who works as a janitor at Garb-X health club and is diagnosed with a terminal illness that can only be cured by an expensive treatment that his greedy, power-hungry employer refuses to pay for. After deciding to take matters into his own hands and rob his company, Winston falls into a pit of toxic waste and is transformed into a deformed monster that sets out to do good and get back at all the people who have wronged him.”

Featuring in the cast of The Toxic Avenger alongside Peter Dinklage as “Toxie” are Jacob Tremblay, Taylour Paige, Elijah Wood, and Kevin Bacon.
