Pretty Little Liars showrunner teases a revival

January 12, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Over the past year or so we’ve seen a growing trend of TV shows being revived or rebooted, so much so that it seems it’s now getting to the point where we’re talking about revivals before shows have even finished their original run!

Back in August, it was announced that Pretty Little Liars is set to end with its seventh season, with a final batch of ten episodes set to get underway in April. However, it seems that showrunner I. Marlene King already has one eye on a return to Rosewood.

“There are so many ways to revisit characters and worlds,” said King at the Television Critics Association press tour (via EW). “It wasn’t easy to say goodbye to this group of people but I kept saying, ‘We’ll find a way to bring these characters and this world back at some point in time.’ I don’t think it’ll be in two years, but at some point in time.”

“[It] made the ending a lot less sad for all of us who were making the show,” she continued. “We would just say, ‘See you in 10 years,’ so I felt like there was that optimism of it’s never really over. It feels like it’s the right time [for the show to end], but knowing there’s a world where we can all come back together again in the future, I think made it a lot easier to say goodbye.”
