Quentin Tarantino and Leonardo DiCaprio tease Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

April 24, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Leonardo DiCaprio and Quentin Tarantino have teased their new film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood with the director praising the partnership between the movie’s two stars.

A new Tarantino film is always something of an event in the cinematic sphere and this will be no different with the director’s latest effort, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The film is set in LA during the time of the Manson murders and will see Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt leading an all-star cast.

Variety reports that at a Sony Pictures CinemaCon presentation on Monday night, Tarantino said that Pitt and DiCaprio will be “the most exciting dynamic star duo since Paul Newman and Robert Redford”, referencing the two cinematic icons working together on Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and The Sting.

Tarantino isn’t the only one predicting great things for the film; with DiCaprio boasting that the film has “one of the most amazing screenplays [the writer-director] has ever written.”

“It takes place at the height of the counterculture explosion,” said Tarantino of his 1969 set film. “It takes place at the time of the hippie revolution, and it takes place at the height of new Hollywood.” Tarantino also compared the film in style and plotting to his beloved 1994 thriller Pulp Fiction.
