Ring of Elysium arrives on Steam next week

September 13, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Tencent Games has announced that their new online multiplayer shooter Ring of Elysium will be arriving on Steam on 19th September.  This new shooter takes players to a frozen mountainous region where they must fight others to be one of the lucky four to get aboard the evac chopper.  This announcement has been accompanied by a new trailer which can be seen below…

Ring of Elysium is an epic battle royale shooter that sees players trapped on a snowy mountain by an ice age level snowstorm that will spell instant death to any caught within it.  The only way to escape is by fighting across the map to board a rescue helicopter, but with only 4 seats available every other player will be trying to be one of the lucky four survivors as well.  Unlike other games of the genre and the ‘last man standing’ victory, Ring of Elysium allows for four players to win which opens the game up to new playstyles.

This multiplayer online arena shooter features:

  • A dynamic weather system  will change based on the specific environments meaning that players will have to fight hypothermia as they try to escape.
  • In this mountainous region there is a risk of an avalanche which can destroy the nearby buildings and any players in the affected area.
  • A whole arsenal of modern weaponry and upgrades await players who are able to equip up to 3 weapons (of different categories) at the same time.
  • Accessories will be equipped to the available weapon automatically. If the weapons are switched, the accessories will be automatically switched as well. If there isn’t an available weapon, accessories will put back into the backpack.
  • Every weapon that can equip scope can use up to two scopes at the same time as long as the scope fits the weapon.
  • Four Winners – The goal of each match isn’t to kill everyone else, it’s to escape. A helicopter extraction will appear with 4 available seats allowing up to 4 players to win each match.
  • Travel by land, sea or air to reach the objective.
  • Players can hide, lean out, and shoot from cover thanks to the intuitive cover mechanics.
  • Switch between First Person Play (FPP) or Third Person Play (TPP).
  • Intelligent Team Communication – Mark out targets or selected paths on the map in real-time without needing to head into map view with a press of a button that will be visible to all teammates.
