Robert Kirkman’s Invincible animated series gets a star-studded voice cast

February 2, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Back in June of last year it was announced that Robert Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment is teaming with Amazon Studios for an animated adaptation of the superhero comic book series Invincible, and now THR has revealed details of the project’s star-studded voice cast.

The Walking Dead alum Steven Yeun will lead the cast alongside J.K. Simmons (Justice League), Mark Hamill (Star Wars: The Last Jedi), Sandra Oh (Killing Eve), Seth Rogen (The Disaster Artist), Gillian Jacobs (Love), Andrew Rannells (Black Monday), Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2), Walton Goggins (Justified), Jason Mantzoukas (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Mae Whitman (Good Girls), Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley), Melise (The Flash), Kevin Michael Richardson (The Simpsons), Grey Griffin (Avengers Assemble) and Max Burkholder (Parenthood).

Invincible follows Mark Grayson (Yeun), a regular teenager whose father just so happens to be the most powerful superhero in the world, Omni-Man (Simmons). Shortly after his 17th birthday, Mark begins to develop powers of his own and enters into his father’s tutelage, only to discover that Omni-Man’s legacy may not be as heroic as it seems.

Simon Racioppa (Teen Titans) is set to serve as showrunner on Invincible, as well as executive producing with Kirkman, David Alpert (The Walking Dead) and Catherine Winder (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) executive producing. The eight-episode series is set to premiere on Amazon in 2020.
