Rumour: Warner Bros. “loves” The Batman script, aiming to shoot Summer 2019

September 26, 2018 by Gary Collinson

After more than a year of working on the screenplay, it was reported last week that Matt Reeves had completed his first draft of the script for The Batman and delivered this to Warner Bros. and DC Films.

Well, if a new rumour from El Mayimbe is to be believed, Warner executives are said to be very, very pleased with the script, and are keen to get cameras rolling on the solo DCEU movie in the summer of 2019.

LIL BATMAN UPDATE: The studio loves Matt Reeves' first draft of his BATMAN script, he is currently doing revisions & the film is being eyed for a hopeful summer 2019 production start. Of note, the current DC regime is committed to getting this take on the Caped Crusader correct! pic.twitter.com/PsOBNxxa8T

Reeves has previously said that he was hoping to start production on The Batman in the first half of 2019, so if this rumour is genuine, it seems that the project is on track. However, it could also mean that we have to endure another nine months of rumours about Ben Affleck’s status, and potential replacements for him under the cape and cowl. Let’s hope that doesn’t prove to be the case!
