Rumour: Zack Snyder was reportedly fired from DC Films prior to his Justice League exit

February 12, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Back in May of last year it was announced that Zack Snyder had decided to step down from as director of Justice League owing to the tragic suicide of his daughter, with Warner Bros. enlisting Joss Whedon to come in and complete the DC superhero blockbuster.

Well, if a new report from Mashable editor Josh L. Dickey is to be believed, it seems that Snyder had already been relieved Snyder of his DC Films duties prior to this official exit, with Dickey claiming that Snyder was actually fired from the DCEU a little over a year ago. At present, there’s nothing in the way of evidence to support these claims, and as such, they should be treated as a rumour.

Since his exit from Justice League, there has been a lot of fan support for Warner Bros. to release a ‘Director’s Cut’ of the superhero blockbuster, and conflicting reports as to whether a Snyder cut of the movie even exists. Snyder is also yet to announce his next project, but it is expected that he will remain listed as an executive producer on the likes of Aquaman and Wonder Woman 2.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League reunites Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta and Robin Wright as General Antiope alongside J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard (The Danish Girl) as Mera and Ciaran Hinds (Game of Thrones) as Steppenwolf.
