Rumoured plot details for Ben Affleck’s solo Batman movie

October 31, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Despite Ben Affleck’s recent comments suggesting he’s yet to get involved with a solo Batman movie, rumours persist that Affleck and DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns are busy developing a feature for the DC Extended Universe incarnation of The Dark Knight.

Fresh from their rumoured plot details about 2017’s Wonder Woman, the folks at Joblo are now claiming to have some details on the as-yet-unannounced Batman flick, which of course may contain spoilers, if there’s any truth to it…

So, according to the site, the film will incorporate elements of the comic book stories A Death in the Family and Under the Red Hood, which if you’re unfamiliar with, deal with the death of Jason Todd’s Robin at the hands of the Joker, and his subsequent resurrection and return as the masked vigilante Red Hood.

Furthermore, the report also claims that Dick Grayson’s Nightwing will also appear in the film to assist the Dark Knight in his battles with Red Hood and The Joker, who is played by Jared Leto in Suicide Squad.

This this isn’t the first time that Red Hood has been rumoured for an appearance in Warner’s DC universe, although at this point it looks like Latino-Review’s “scoop” from earlier this year about Red Hood featuring in Suicide Squad is unlikely to pan out.

Still, given that there’s a clear tease to A Death in the Family in the trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (see the image above), it would seem to make sense that the Red Hood storyline will be explored in the DCEU at some point down the line.
